What is Healing Energy?
When trying to understand what healing energy is and how it works, it pays to remember that this type of healing has been used with success for thousands of years. When a method of healing stands the test of time in such a way, it should not be ignored. Energy healing forms part of so many ancient cultures that are still around today and it would be not be wise to dismiss the benefits of energy healing just because it does not fit into the current definitions of medicine that have been decided by the contemporary scientific mainstream.
As discussed already, subtle energy is a form of magnetic energy that can hold structures within itself. This subtle energy plays a huge role within many of our own biological systems (bio-energy) and the way our bodies heal themselves is no exception. It is fairly well known that the mind can have a dramatic impact on the ability of our bodies to recover from illness or injury although it is not known exactly how this happens (the placebo effect is a good example of this). Healing energy is part of our natural human body healing mechanisms and 'Energy Healing' is the practice of manipulating these healing systems using conscious intent.
Our bodies have evolved to produce healing energy and there is a way to take control of this healing energy (using the mind) and use it for whatever purpose that we choose, whether that is to help a healing process in our own bodies, or whether we focus the energy and send it to help heal another person.
But how does this healing energy know what to do? Healing energy acts a bit like computer software, it can be programmed with a set of instructions (algorithm) and sent to perform a particular task. The way we give it this programming is through various types of intention. It starts with an initial intention to send healing to someone and then the programming can be made stronger through various visualisations and mantras and its intensity can be increased using certain breathing exercises. Think about the ancient practice of praying for others. This practice is very much associated with religion nowadays however it started a long time before the major religions first began and it has stood the test of time for a reason. Prayer is actually a form of energy healing, although in this instance it is mostly emotional energy that is transferred.
There are many different types of energy healing which we go into in further detail as part of AYA Education.
